Playing in the Blogosphere: Issue 2
In which you will discover Magical Moments, Magical Writing, and Magical Inspiration.
Welcome to Issue 2 of playing in the blogosphere, the guide to playful blog posts across the realms of cyberspace. Following my post on Magical Enchantment I've started seeing magic everywhere. It's amazing what you see when your eyes are open to it.

Finding Wings
Gypsy-Heart has a wonderful blog where she shares the magic in life. In her post Life is a Magical Thing she writes of the cage she used to live in with 'crumpled wings' But now:
My wings are expanded again and my heart is soaring…
ah, the sweet nectar of life!
In another post, New Beginnings and the Magic Box, Gypsy-Heart writes about her magic box. The magic box is 'a special box that I place, not only keepsakes, but my ideas, goals, dreams, visions, wishes, etc in.' The post helped me to see my notebook in a different way, as a magic box of dreams.
Magical Moments
Meanwhile, over at Creative Journey Cafe, Mark asks, 'Do You Believe in Magic?'. Mark's magic moment was randomly bumping into his childhood hero, Bruce Springsteen, at a local cafe. Mark writes that:
No matter how many mundane days you have in between, you know those magic moments can happen again, around any corner, at any cafe.
Magical Writing
A while ago I discovered Breathless Noon, a blog by writer Amber Simmons. It's only updated from time to time, but when it is, Amber's beautiful writing style makes the stories from her life seem magical. It truly is writing to leave you breathless. In her latest post, Not My Daughter, Amber writes:
I've always believed that words have power. One of my favorite euphemisms for putting a curse on someone is 'to put words' on someone–to bind them by the finality and imperviousness of actual words, of letters, the actual building blocks of the universe. And owing to my deep loyalty to this belief, I won't allow people to say things in my presence that I really don't want to come true.
If you visit only one blog from this post, please choose Amber's, and remember to leave a comment if you are inspired to do so.
Magical Inspiration
If you're looking for some magic to inspire you to be creative, these recent blog posts should help you find your spark:
Visualization by Damien Riley:
It sounds a little out there I know, but if you give yourself over to it your creative mind truly comes alive.
How to Get Unstuck by Lodewijk van den Broek overflows with creative and playful ideas to get inspired, including doodling with crayons, playing the tourist, and taking your camera out for a stroll.
In Let You Subconscious do the Work, Michael Miles explains the importance of the subsconscious mind for the creative process and for living life to the full:
It amazes me that people go through life running the same script for year after year, decade after decade, never seeming to realize that they have a choice. But this is the reality – you have free will, you are responsible for how you react, and you have the power to change 'I must' into 'I choose.'
Finally, beplayful.org's Catalysts of Creativity introduces the ideas of Creativity Prompts and Inspirations:
Creativity-prompts are the everyday things that give us the drive to be creative. It may be the feel of soapy water when washing up, outrage at a badly written plot in a novel, or your favourite notebook.
Inspirations are those things that cause the muse to well up inside you. They turn the desire to be creative into creative ability. Inspirations are different for every person; they may be a poem, a painting, children playing, a novel, or an accidental daffodil on the roadside.

David -
I think you are a great photographer. I'd have used this picture for my post
