It’s been a great month starting up my blog. To read some of my roller coaster ride, I recommend My Blogging Adventure.

April highlights on beplayful.org

Change Your Life With Kaizen – the tiny way to make big things happen.

Being playful in the city – for all the urban players out there.

Aspects of Playfulness: Dedicated Delight- the first article in my Aspects of Playfulness series.

From Age 38 to 8 in Thirty Seconds – a story of playfulness on a shopping spree. Thanks to Damien Riley of Postcards from the Funny Farm fame for this guest post.

Highlights on the blogosphere

I was recently delighted to discover the Cheerful Monk blog, written by Jean. Jean posts once a week, and everything she says is always beautifully written and well thought out. Cheerful Monk’s most playful post this month was on talking to yourself. We’re not crazy – promise!

Meanwhile, Chelle at It Might Be Love has been on fire recently with her playful posts:

15 Romantic Rainy Day Date Ideas – playful dating ideas for a rainy day. The best part is you don’t even need a date for most of these – you could take a friend instead!

55 Unique Places to Leave Love Notes is equally playful. Again, why not leave a note of appreciation for a housemate or a work colleague using these ideas?

Chelle also has a great idea on bringing out your inner child with 8 Fun Ideas for Coloring Book Pages. Unmissable!

Elsewhere, Isabella Mori has a wonderful post on turning dreaded tasks into moments of play.

Finally, I couldn’t help but laugh at Clay Collins’s parody of a productivity post.

In the News

The Telegraph reports that being playful genuinely helps with brain power. Researchers have shown how brain training puzzles boost IQ and problem solving skills.

Meanwhile, in France the legendary small shopkeepers are losing their playtime as they have to work increasingly hard to compete with the huge supermarkets. Read about it here.

Thanks for a great month, and do get in touch if you’re planning to write a playful post, do let me know so that I can send you some link love. Also, please do not hesitate to contact me if you’d like to write a guest post for beplayful.org.
